Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Irvine is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Irvine is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Got two dishes to go β hot dry noodles and Liangpi. Both were delicious, and the portions were very generous. Definitely coming back again!π€

Frequent customer here at the Irvine location. The beef brisket noodle and rice noodles are both fantastic and highly authentic. Great food and quick service! Highly recommend if youβre looking for authentic and tasty noodles!

My overall impression is that this location serves low-quality Shaanxi food at a not low price point. The ordering process is a bit of a messβthereβs no main menu displayed, just two small sheets at the cashierβs counter. The food is very carb-heavy and incredibly spicy by default. A major warning: if you order something "non-spicy," it comes out almost entirely unseasoned and bland. Additionally, pork is the main protein and they use a heavy amount of crushed peanuts. If you have a peanut allergy or donβt eat pork, you should definitely avoid this place. I ordered the Shanxi Liangpi, but it was mushy and lacked the authentic, chewy texture I expected.

The food is very OK, service is average, and atmosphere is bad. I do not suggest getting any of the fried rice as it is seriously lacking flavor. Maybe just adding salt or MSG would make this decent, but unfortunately, it was not good. The liang pi was decent. These spicy cold noodles had OK flavor, however, the main issue was that the noodles were all stuck together into one big ball. Especially in the places in New York, these noodles are always separated and completely covered in sauce. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. Additionally, for the price, I would expect for some type of protein to be added to the dish such as wheat gluten. Service is average. It took staff a little bit of time to come to the front to take the order. Atmosphere is bad. You will see boxes and cleaning supplies and other items just stored along the wall of the restaurant. Seating is OK, parking is hard to find.

The good: they give you a lot of food and donβt try to guilt you into tipping like other places. You do bus your own food. The food is good. Not the absolute best, but good. Not much ambiance.
